Issues

All over the world, public discourse on contentious topics is increasingly confrontational, ideologically charged, and emotionally triggering, making it virtually impossible for people on different sides of any conversation to engage in meaningful and respectful debate about the future. People arguing for either side become resentful, hindering future attempts at mediation because of the increasingly polarized opinions.

The disagreement on current political issues is often if not always caused by a different understanding of how the present situation has come to be. In order to avoid a polarized public discourse we need to tackle growing levels of misinformation and agree on a common understanding of our shared past.

xplris is a resource for addressing polarization and misinformation based on a unified store of historical knowledge that avoids the pitfalls of narrated history.
